The banana tree holds a special place in India's cultural heritage, and its entire lifecycle is valued. In South India, a non-profit organization has pioneered an innovative process to create ropes from the dry bark of banana trees. These ropes are then skillfully crocheted by local artisan women into TerraKlay’s eco-friendly banana fiber products. What began with a group of eight women has blossomed into a thriving community, now supporting the livelihoods of 150 to 200 women, including many second-generation artisans.
