Beautifully crafted and ethically hand-loomed by traditional woman artisans from the Himalayan belt. Drape it over your bed or cozy up on the couch on those cold winter nights while reading a book. Perfect for picnics, sitting around the firepit or star-gazing. Our throws are made from merino wool and angora wool, all naturally dyed. Any slight imperfection is an individual expression of that artisan’s “perfect” handy work.
Material: 100% Merino wool, Angora wool, natural dyes
Size: 50” x 70”
Wool has excellent natural dirt-resistant properties which makes it unnecessary to wash often. Let your blanket air outside in humid weather. If your blanket still needs maintenance, please dry clean only. Iron at medium temperature. Do not tumble dry or use bleach.
In remote villages tucked into the Himalayan mountain belt of North India, Maati Collective members, a self-help group, are revitalizing woolen crafts by combining traditional techniques and natural materials with modern designs. Through this regeneration of knitting and weaving practices, over 100 women artisans improve their lives and strengthen local communities.
TerraKlay is bringing a wide range of functional designs in stoneware pottery created by craftsmen and craftswomen from south India's village community.
These products were born from the idea to create a platform where the villagers could live and work in their village and learn a new skill instead needing to migrate to bigger cities. This led to the creation of a range of "eco-friendly products" wheel-thrown by village craftsmen. All stoneware cups are fair trade and show the beauty of their handmade artistry.
