Two decades of successful social and economic interventions have benefitted 100 small farmers cooperatives in South India and evolved into a rural farming model rooted in local resources and traditional skills to improve livelihood. Efforts of small and marginal rain-fed farmers engaging in default organic agriculture have led to increased organic farming and linking their cotton to mainstream markets.
A group of women artisans are trying to revive the traditional craft of handloom weaving in a rural community in South India. For over two decades, nearly 100 small farmer cooperatives and 30 women artisan families in this region have flourished through successful social and economic interventions. This initiative not only sustains traditional weaving but also uplifts farming communities by promoting eco-friendly agriculture.
